New homelessness projects!
We’re proud to announce £250,000 in new funding to help people experiencing homelessness. Streets of London is helping to fund 14 projects across the capital that offer a wide range of support.
This year, we’re placing a special focus on health and well-being, with £100,000 in funding for projects that support and improve people’s mental health (targeted towards people sleeping rough), that enable recovery from addiction, and that help people re-build self-confidence and hope.
Other projects include: vital immediate help (such as food, a hot shower, clean clothes, access to medical attention); an emergency night shelter; professional catering and hospitality training; career coaching and job search support for homeless young people; and personalised one-to-one support (giving proper attention to people’s individual situations and needs, to give them the best chance of ending their homelessness).
The support provided by these projects has a profound effect on individual lives, helping people in crisis to get back on their feet and move away from life on the streets.
You can find full details about each of the projects funded HERE.
With the coldest months of the year approaching, and with street homelessness in London at a record high – and now at five times the level it was twenty years ago – this support is needed more than ever.
A huge thank you to all our supporters! We are really grateful to everyone who has helped to make this possible.
